(More customer reviews)Stopped using frontline & have been giving the dogs garlic in their food and using this spray. I added a little bit of peppermint oil to it too as I read that was effective against ticks as well. I live in Florida where fleas and ticks are a huge problem year round so it is a relief to finally find something natural that works. I don't have to worry about how often I use it as it won't hurt my dogs or cats. I also have an aversion to smells since I have asthma & allergies but the smell of it is wonderful and doesn't bother me at all. Definitely try it !

(More customer reviews)This was an absolute waste of money, thank goodness it was cheap. It didn't prevent fleas when I sprayed it on the dogs before we went outside, and it didn't kill the fleas afterward. I would literally see a flea in their fur, saturate the area with the spray, and I could practically hear the flea going "Weeee! Bath time!" I'm pretty sure I could have come closer to getting rid of the fleas if I had just let the dogs eat a $5 bill. Doesn't sound like it would do much, you say? Exactly. Neither did this. Oh, and the smell is ridiculously gross. I'll never eat cloves again. It would have been acceptable if it had worked. But it didn't.

I finally had to give in and put Frontline on the dogs, which I was hoping to avoid. I'm also using a 10% cedar oil spray, and that is helping, as we're dealing with the infestation. Don't waste your time or money or sanity with this.

(More customer reviews)I didn't find any pros to using this shampoo, for a few reasons.
1) This "shampoo" has the consistency of water- it'll spill out in your hands before you get a chance to apply it to your cat. Straight from bottle to cat is ok for top areas, but like I mentioned it's like water and you end up wasting a lot of it and difficult to apply to areas like under the chest and tummy.
2) Barely lathers- no bubbles, no way to work the product into the fur.Literally like splashing water on your cat.
3) Smell is not pleasant.I wouldn't recommend this product.

DeFlea Pet and Bedding Flea Spray for Dogs and Cats, 24-Ounce Review

(More customer reviews)For those that negatively reviewed this product, that's sad. INSTANTLY I saw the fleas trying to get away and one by one, die within seconds! No, its intended use is not to last for a month like topical treatments (which don't work anyhow). This IS safe for pets!
Here's my advice.
1. Don't waste money experimenting.
2. Start with the house. You WILL have to use something to help the carpets/floors/furniture...THIS IS NOT THE PRODUCT FOR THAT! I suggest Fleabusters RX While it might be a little difficult to apply, its WORTH THE EFFORT!!! And the treatment is guaranteed for a year! You can find it on Amazon for $30. Until it arrives, just vacuum every day...its good exercise anyways.
Did you know that only 5% of the fleas in your home are on your pets? The other 95% are IN YOUR carpets and furniture and pet beds!
3. Vacuum, vacuum, vacuum. EVERY DAY!!! THROW THE BAGS IN AN OUTSIDE TRASH CAN AWAY FROM YOUR HOUSE! If you happen to have a bagless vacuum like myself, then clean it out after each use and if you're a freak like me wash it each time with soapy water.
4. Treat pets with this upon first treatment of the house with this stuff! I let this sit in their fur a day. My cat has white fur on her belly. When I sprayed this in that area, I saw all the bloody defication and fleas first hand. =/ Poor kitty. BUT THIS TREATMENT WILL KILL ALL OF THE FLEAS THAT ARE ON YOUR PET THE SECOND YOU SPRAY IT ON THEM.
5. The next day, bathe your pets with flea shampoo. I use the same brand as this spray! You can find that on here for $10. This isn't necessary unless you're a freak like me. You can just use soapy water if you want.
6. Repeat the spray/bath after every 2 weeks for about 4 months. I know it seems like a lot of work, but some of the eggs and stuff can take up to 4 months to hatch!

Then, if you walk a dog or let your pet outdoors, I would suggest dusting their butt with this before letting them in or getting those chewable pills that kill fleas when they bite your pet. Capatrol?? Its called something like that. Especially during flea season if you have one or after playing/encountering with flea infested pets.

I've found topicals and collars to be completely useless...

The only negative thing I can say about this product is that it kind of smells like pepper. Its a weird association to have!
