(More customer reviews)We live on a farm and have 8 cats.I've used Hartz Ultra Guard Reflecting Flea & Tick Collars on our cats for many years.They work well for the heavily wooded area we live in and zero of my cats have ever had any kind of bad reaction to the collars. And they are reasonably priced and last 7 months through the whole flea and tick season.

(More customer reviews)Spring has finally arrived here in the north and with it come the ticks.Yuck!I have two dogs and found one tick on my husky mix and four ticks on my pit mix.Seeing as my pit was having more problems, I sprayed her down with Adams flea & tick spray about 10 days ago, but I did NOT spray my husky at the time.

This past weekend we went out of town to go hiking in Minnesota and we ended up having an experiment without trying.The ticks there were HORRIBLE, the worst I have ever experienced.

I took my dogs out hiking at a state park in the morning and when we came back to camp I found four ticks on my husky, who, as previously noted, did not have any tick spray on him.My pit was clean, as was I.

We then went on a hike at the same park in the afternoon.The result... I had three ticks crawling on my legs.My husky had over 20 ticks (!) crawling around on him.My pit had one tick on her paw, but I never sprayed her paw with Adams flea & tick spray, so I can't blame that one on them.

That night I found a few more ticks on my husky, and when we drove home the next day he had another three ticks crawling around on him during the drive that I had to pull over and remove.

The results were astounding.My unprotected husky had 20+ ticks.My pit had one tick.Both dogs were leashed during our hikes and remained on the trail.The only difference is my pit had Adams sprayed on 10 days ago while my husky did not.If that is any indication to the effectiveness of this product, then I will remain a customer for years to come!

If a human needs to wear a respirator while working with this product and you need to wash your hands after touching it, then it probably isn't a good idea to have it wrapped around your cat's neck. Using this collar isforcing the cat to breath the toxic particles continuously and you wold be exposing kitty to toxins he or she will also ingest while grooming himself. The quoted information below is directly from the safety data sheet of this product:

"The dust released by this collar is a cholinesterase inhibitor....propoxur is a cholinesterase inhibitor that may produce the following symptoms: headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, tightness in chest, ataxia, anorexia, tearing, sweating, salivation, pin-point pupils, pulmonary edema, cyanosis, convulsions....Wash hands and face thoroughly with soap and water after handling product. Do not allow children to handle collar.... If extensive exposure is anticipated, users and handlers should wear a NIOSH approved organic vapor/dust/pesticide respirator, impervious gloves, goggles, and other appropriate clothing to prevent skin contact...

(More customer reviews)I put this collar on my 2 indoor cats.I gave my dog a flea pill.After 1 week after giving my dog the pill I see fleas on my dog! The cats at this point have had the collar on for almost 3 months. I check the cats and they are fine.I'm still trying to get rid of the fleas on my dog.Last year I had a problem with my dog with the topical stuff.I also had this flea collar with my cats last year and they were fine then too.Amazing the cats didn't get fleas because the cats and dog co-mingle.This collar works great!I am looking for the this brand collar for my dog now.

(More customer reviews)Wellmark cat flea/tick collars.The product I ordered was 'breakaway' flea collars.Their sku on their website is #46200 for this product.The product I received was SKU #46200, but it was NOT a breakaway collar, but the much cheaper buckle type (cannot use on outdoor cats).If you order, you will undoubtedly get the wrong item as I did because they have not fixed their problem.
